Just checked the salle and everything looks good!  And VDOT has reopened 17  so we're back to our normal schedule as of tonight.  See you there!

Monday fencing cancelled - 28 Oct 12

Not that I'm one for following trends but with all the area closures tomorrow and with the potential for things to change for the worse, I'm erring on the side of caution and am cancelling all lessons, classes, and practice at IWFC for Monday night. Simply put, better safe than sorry!

Important! Schedule notes - 26 Oct 12

Sunday, October 28: No Poquoson fencing! PPR is canceling all activities for Sunday so that means no class and no club practice this weekend. We'll add a day to the end of the class schedule to make up for it.

Monday and Tuesday, October 29 and 30: IWFC is on as scheduled for now. If the weather forces a change, I'll post a note here.

Wednesday, October 31: No IWFC fencing! Happy Halloween!

Thursday, November 1, onward: Our normal schedule is anticipated but as always, updates will be posted here if that changes.

Poquoson schedule reminder - 19 Oct 12

Hey Poquoson fencers! Don't forget, there is no fencing this Sunday, October 21 -- class or practice -- due to the annual Poquoson Seafood Festival. Go have a great time and I'll see you on the 28th!

Wow! - 7 Oct 12

Wow! I think Poquoson set a new attendance record tonight -- we definitely had a full house! And it was a great mix of new fencers, experienced fencers, fencers we haven't seen in a while, and ones who are there nearly every weekend. A couple of pics are on PFC's Facebook and will be on PFC's website as soon as I get a chance.

All right, IWFC, the ball's in your court now. The summer heat seems to have broken so come on out and play! Going to let PFC show you up?

Okay, something went goofy with yesterday's updates -- they posted to some places just fine but never showed up in others. So just to be paranoid, here they are again but with one modification: equipment orders will be taken through 10 p.m. tonight just in case someone needed yesterday's reminder but didn't see it.

Class registrations are still open for beginner classes at both locations as well as for the saber class in Carrollton. Did you miss the Poquoson start date of September 30? No worries, new fencers will be accepted through this Sunday, October 7. Contact Poquoson Parks and Rec to register. Want to take the class in Carrollton? New fencers will be accepted through Friday, October 5. Email to register. See previous entries for class details.

All practices are back on their regular schedule so grab your gear and come on out! The more, the noisie- I mean merrier!
