Need something to tide you over in the meanwhile? How about:
- Videos from the Fencing Masters Tournament (By 'CyrusofChaos' so they're good!)
- The Fencing Masters Tournament from an audience member's perspective.
- The FIE has just uploaded a pile of videos from September's zonal championships in Tunisia. Hopefully vids of the recently-completed Worlds will be up soon.
- How about some more videos of IWFC fencers? Visit our YouTube channel for clips of the Halloween Open!
- There are also some new photos on the IWFC site. Have some of your own you'd like to share? Send 'em in!
- USA Today just ran an article about Notre Dame fencer Ted Hodges, who recently underwent a heart transplant. It's well worth the read.
Pre-registration is open for the Hangover, which will be January 8-9 in Richmond. This is traditionally a large open event and tends to have a solid array of fencing abilities from 'just started this fall' to some of the top fencers in the Mid-Atlantic. It also has women's events in all three weapons - bonus! This year all events are in the same venue, Richmond Volleyball Club's Westmoreland location (directions are on the above website). Registration is $35 per weapon in advance, $50 at the door so be sure to pre-reg, even if you only think you might enter!
Need/want fencing equipment for the Hangover? Maybe do a little holiday shopping for yourself or your fencaholic? The next equipment order goes in on Wednesday, December 1. Start putting your shopping list together now! Orders and payments are due to me by 10 p.m. that night. (As always, Absolute is the preferred vendor.)
The club t-shirt order should be arriving on Tuesday, November 30. And there are some extra goodies, from keychains and water bottles for both clubs to maroon PFC tees! I'll try to post pics as soon as they come in but rest assured, I'll have the real thing with me at all practices and classes, too. Socks are expected to ship on December 14 (they're from a different vendor); I'll let you know when they're here.
Thanks go out to everyone who has been bringing in aluminum cans. The bin's nearly ready for its first trip to the recycler!
